This obituary was had no notes to identify what newspaper it appeared in, however, the "hometown" is Reynoldsville, Jefferson County, Pennsylvania.

Raymond H. Elliott, of 409 Mabel Street, died March 27, 1974 in the West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Mr. Elliott was born July 5, 1902 in Foxburg, the son of Charles F. and Sarah (Perry) Elliott. In June, 1924 he was married to Edna Johnson, who preceded him in death in 1972.

A retired conductor for the Pennsylvania Railroad, Mr. Elliott had lived in Reynoldsville for the past 35 years. He was a member of the Brotherhood Of Railroad Trainmen, and of the F.O.E. 540 of Reynoldsville.

OBIT: Edna Johnson Elliot

Edna Johnson Elliott, according to the Social Security Death Index, died in June 1972. Her obituary simply says she "died yesterday."

Other sources identify 14 June 1972 as the day of death. (ancestry.com)

RPPC Reynoldsville FIRE!

May was my last post because I began filling boxes to move. Now, three months later, I'm beginning to get a handle on things. So here goes:

This picture from an old RPPC is identified as The rear of the Velvet Ice Cream Co. store that burned." I saw the image, but do not have the actual card. But I did wonder if anyone else knows about this store, the fire, the date, or who the kids might be. Personally, I think it's cool to see the icicles.
